The AUA Open Education, in collaboration with the College of Business and Economics (CBE), is starting a new program, “Small and Emerging Business Development Program in Armenian Provinces with Scholarships for Women,” to boost the business development in Armenian regions.
Anoush Yedigaryan, the Director of the AUA Open Education, mentions that the course will contribute to the progressive education of entrepreneurs. The program will provide full scholarships to female participants coming from different regions of Armenia as well as from Artsakh.
English language courses will be organized prior to taking the core business program to ensure the students have sufficient English language skills to participate in the training program.
The business program will include modules on finding markets, financial management and product development. The program will be offered online and offline via the Open Education infrastructure in different locations, including the cities of Dilijan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Yeghegnadzor, Goris, Kapan, and Stepanakert.
Although some materials related to financial management and local tax laws will be delivered in Armenian, most of the content will be offered in English.
The program will consist of three stages; mastering English, completing two business-related semesters, and mentoring and coaching. “The coaching and mentoring section of the program will be developed individually for each participant depending on their business needs,” adds Yedigaryan. “After the end of the program, we will also be in touch with the participants, track their success, and support them if they need further help.”
The outcomes of the program are already predictable. A number of professionals will assist the participants in their journey to business entrepreneurship in Armenia.
Considering that Armenian women are not highly engaged in business activities, the development program aims to help women use their potential in entrepreneurship by offering full scholarships.
The program is a door opener for women regardless of their financial backgrounds. The aim of the program is that women entrepreneurs from the regions will become more experienced and knowledgeable in business communication.
